After 5 years as one of the most widely grown varieties in the North, Anastasia is still one of the highest yielding, open pollinated, conventional variety on the AHDB Recommended List 2018/19 – North region. Anastasia has short, stiff stems and excellent lodging resistance, a combination of features suiting the harsher northern conditions.
Anastasia has good resistance to light leaf spot; the most important disease in the North of the UK. Anastasia has a very high oil content, similar to Barbados, providing the opportunity of achieving good oil premiums.
Anastasia is medium-early to flower and mature.
